Tang Dynasty
Opposing characters are identical, the bases are the identifying feature. Very colorful, depicting Chinese culture in these chess pieces. After the Sui Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty came to power in the 600's to the 900's and was greater than the Han Dynasty in it's military campaigns and strength. The Yuan and Qing Dynasties were later, and only rivaled the Tang Dynasty in its military territories. Authentic, colorful chess pieces depicting life during the Tang Dynasty. The theme characters represent 4 military branches.
