This is the Large Crusade Theme Chess Piece. They are not weighted so are light, made of resin. These hand painted Chessmen actually depict the Dark Ages, starting from 500's AD to the Holy Crusades of the 10th, 11th and 12th centuries AD. It was all about controlling the Holy Land. The Catholic Religion of the 10th, 11th, and 12th centuries would war against the Muslin religion to keep them out of the Holy Land.
